Under Hand and Seal

Concepts in Communication provides the following notarial services in accordance with the laws of Washington State that regulate Notaries Public:

Signature verification. Certification that the signer personally appeared before the Notary, was positively identified, and signed the document in the Notary's presence.

Acknowledgment. Certification that the signer personally appeared before the Notary, was positively identified, and acknowledged freely signing a previously signed document.

Certified copy. Certification that a photocopy is a complete and true reproduction of the original document.

Oath or affirmation. Certification that the signer personally appeared before the Notary, was positively identified, took an oath or affirmation, and signed a written statement in the Notary's presence.

Restrictions

Washington State law does not permit Notaries Public to perform the following acts:

Notarization in absentia. In all cases, the signer must personally appear before the Notary at the time of the notarization.

Notarization
of vital records.
The office of vital statistics that issued the original document
is the only entity empowered to issue a certified copy of a vital
record (birth certificate, death certificate, marriage license,
divorce decree). Vitalrec.com
provides information regarding how to obtain copies of vital records
issued in the United States and its territories.

Please note that we can provide a certified translation of vital records. A certified translation verifies that the translation is true and accurate, but does not verify the authenticity of the document being translated.

Legal advice. Notaries Public are not attorneys, are not licensed to practice law in the state of Washington, and are not permitted to give legal advice.

Your Place or Ours

Concepts
in Communication has a Notary Public available, by appointment,
Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M.
to 5:00 P.M.
If it is not convenient for you to come to our office, we will travel
to your home or workplace in Anacortes, Washington.

Foreign
Documents

Documents
to be used in another state or another country may require verification
that the Notary's signature and stamp are genuine and that the Notary
had the authority to perform the act at the time of the notarization.
Such verification is issued by the office of the Secretary of State,
or its equivalent, in the form of a certificate attached to the
notarized document. As an additional service, Concepts in Communication
will obtain this verification when your documents so require.

Authentication.
Sometimes required for documents notarized in one state and used
in another.

Apostille.
Sometimes required for documents notarized in the United States
for use in another country. The apostille is recognized by countries
that are party to the Hague Convention treaty.
